Philip Lambert

philip lambert hampshire artistPhilip trained as a surveyor, he worked at Ordnance Survey, Southampton until 1939. Surveyor in the Royal Engineers for the duration of World War II, in the Middle East.

After the war Philip attended the Southern College of Art and obtained a Double National Diploma (NDD) in Illustration and Painting.   He won a travelling scholarship to study in the Paris ateliers (1951).

He has worked as a Art teacher, picture restorer and valuer.

Philip Lambert is most famous for his Hampshire Landscape paintings.

He has exhibited his original paintings at numerous one-man shows, past exhibitors of his original paintings have included:

The Majorie Parr Gallery
Guildford House Gallery
The Guildhall Gallery - Winchester
Laing Collection, for which he won the Southern Regional prize 1984

His paintings are in many private collections which include The Mayor of Winchester's collection in the Guildhall Gallery, Winchester and The Rose Bowl - Hampshire Cricket.
